Once copyright is assigned, it does not automatically disappear for a
specific year. The range demonstrates that any changes in that time
period are copyrighted. The DDF has not assigned copyright to any other
entity for any period over those the years (as far as I know of course
:) ).

However, I'm not an expert and copyright is country specific ... but i
think that is generally accepted.
