A bit disappointing to see it apparently was not deemed necessary for 
a bit of discussion on this and where 2x is/should be headed. I would 
have thought it to be one of *the* topics to have created the most 
controversy in the last two years.

Perhaps more than 90% of the changes in the 2x branch were thought up, 
designed and developed by 2 people. (Marc and myself).  For a couple 
of months now, we both have been taking our development away from the 
formal trac.xaraya.com place for a while, not necessarily for the same 
reasons.

Mine were purely out of efficiency reasons. I depend on a working 2x 
core and I did not find enough time to properly propagate the changes 
in my business projects back to 2x again, also because the group was 
that small to cause the synergy for 2x efforts to be rather small or 
even negative. The amount of time needed to discuss the smallest 
changes got the better of me, just couldn't afford it. I'm sure that 
is a feeling which is shared by more.
