Exactly.

We've been running with "dozens of icons spread around the system" all 
this time and haven't heard any issues with it. So, regardless of 
whether or not it is a good way to go, it's the way we went, long ago.

Changing that paradigm is a valid proposal that I would welcome for 
review. Otherwise, unqualified, it can be read simply as criticism, 
intended or not.
