Yes, a bit unsightly, but on the other hand:
- the exercise to remove Xaraya from BL a few months ago wasn't 100% 
successful, there are still a few other links in there (nonetheless I 
appreciate your taking the time to follow that line)
- the concept of legacy tags is a useful one in general, so I think the 
functionality could/should be included, but indeed perhaps not via 
configvars in the future.

In other words, this will need to be revisited sometime.
