Jason, that sounds interesting.

I'd been thinking (thinking way ahead) of making my own variant of 
autolinks so it would handle not only 'web links' but do a conversion 
for abbreviations and acronyms into appropriate <abbrev> and <acronym> 
tags as well. Is anything like that forseen already? The mechanism would 
be essentially the same as that for autolinks, only you'd need to 
specify whether to generate a <a>, <abbrev> or <acronym> tag (with 
appropriate attriutes, of course). i.e., each keyword would need 
specification of what type of tag to generate from the source.
