Xaraya comes with a number of configuration options that assign privileges
to unregistered users ("Anonymous") as part of the installation. Not all
these configurations may fit your needs, and you may want to replace them
with privileges of your own. In the following example we want Anonymous to
have the right to comment (i.e. submit stuff) all through the site.
1. Go to Privileges -->Add Privilege-->with rights
2. Enter a name, such as CommentAccess and set the level to "Comment"
3. Leave all the other settings alone: relam, module and component are
"All", and the Member of field is blank (this privilege will not be part of
another privilege).
4. Now go Roles-->View All Groups and click on the little blue figure icon
next to the group "Everybody" (the icon furthest on the left). You'll see a
listing for Anonymous appear at the top. Anonymous is a member of the group
"Everybody".
5. Click on the yellow privileges icon at the right of the listing of
Anonymous (the second one from the right). You'll see a list of the
privileges of Anonymous appear. The list will depend on the configuration
you chose at install. Use the "Remove" links at the right of each privilege
to remove its assignment.
Hint: if you see either of the privileges ReadNonCore or Casual Access in
the list, remove it first. Any dependent privileges will automatically be
removed as well.
6. Once you've removed all of Anonymous' assigned privileges, use the
dropdown in the middle of the page to assign the one you created:
CommentAccess. Unregistered users can now submit comments, articles etc. in
those modules where this is enabled.
