MySQL_Connect error ???

Hi all. Im new to using PHP and MySQL stuff sooo please go easy on me
:-)

Anyways I keep getting this error every time I log in to my xaraya site.

At: /home/u3/darkyoda/html/xaradodb/drivers/adodb-mysql.inc.php (Line:
325)

mysql_connect(): Access denied for user: '[email protected]' (Using
password: NO)

Now I went to every place I could think to look and made sure that
root was changed to the user name and that the password and all was
right. And it just still is doing it.
I did not install xaraya into a database named xaraya(instead installing
it into one already there that I had been using for phpBB2). Hmm it
seems like it should work but I get the feeling that maybe I screwed
something up on the install that is just making it weird now.
