Wow - interesting "feature". Now if only I could manage to reproduce
this, I might have a chance to track this down :-(

Could you give me an overview of your webserver version, PHP version,
database version, any special configuration settings etc. ? And perhaps
send me a tarball with a database dump of your old PostNuke site ?

I'd like to figure out where and how it's switching users during the import,
because that's certainly not supposed to happen (obviously).

I assume you *are* running the script from the Xaraya html directory
(same place as where index.php is), and not some other place where
your browser wouldn't send your session id cookie ?

BTW, the old PN user with pn_userid=2 will not be imported - it is
assumed that the new admin user you created at installation will
simply replace the old PN one.
