The first thing I'd do is make a copy of <xarhome>/themes/Xaraya_Classic 
to <xarhome>/themes/<your_theme>. Then just go in and start messing with 
stuff.

Remember that in your new xartheme.php file, you need to change the 
$themeinfo['id'] value or Xaraya will do strange things when you try to 
load it in. Give it a new name, too.

When you want to try your changes out, go to Admin > Themes > View 
Themes > Check 'Regenerate' > Click 'Refresh'. Then Activate your new 
theme, go to Admin > Themes > Modify Config to set your default theme, 
and you're good to go.

The 'Info' button on the View Themes page lets you preview as well.
