I'm also working on translation right now...
Got some pb with translating :
eg : how to translate hooks in order to have a user friendly name ???
same for articles... i've see the discussion on the dev list... for now 
it's "publication"... but it might change...
I'll send a first draft of translation in order to have you correct my 
mistakes... and estimation...
