Xaraya for a small-scale economics cooperative

I'm using Xaraya for a project, the primary focus of which - at the
moment - is to facilitate the lending/borrowing* of 'shareable' goods
(e.g. books, DVDs, tools, etc.). If the project becomes active (it's
almost entirely lifeless at the moment), maybe it's scope could be
extended to include listings for 'Services', and other types of goods.
The address for the site is: http://ie.uk.to/

I'm posting here because - although the project is specifically for
people in Dublin, Ireland - I'm in the process of writing a possible
'How-to' for anyone who is interested in starting a similar project. The
URL for the how-to is: http://ie.uk.to/index.php/start_a_project/ .
Before I publicise the guide, I just wanted to check if anyone on this
list is willing to offer feedback first. The document is still work in
progress, but is at a stage where feedback will hopefully be useful.

Points of concern are:
(i) Privileges/security: A general outline of the privileges I'm using
for the site can be discerned from a quick browse of this URL:
http://ie.uk.to/index.php/start_a_project/privileges
(ii) Custom content types used: A download of the publication type
definitions I'm using is here:
http://ie.uk.to/downloads/pubtype_definitions.tar.bz2
(iii) Legibility / structure / coherence of the guide

As well as thoughts in relation to those specific points, other thoughts
are welcome (e.g. if you have a chance to look at the custom functions
I'm using, feel free to highlight any shortcomings). If you think there
may be other ways of doing things, or other Xaraya modules, that might
be useful for a project like this, let me know.

* for 'free', essentially
