Module function installer_admin_upgrade1 does not exist

Hello all,

Shortly after upgrading from v. 1.1.4 I began to have trouble with the
headlines module and while trying to re-install it cleanly via the modules
module my site crashed completely. I tried to replace just the headlines
module, and then the entire full install but whenever I try to load
site.com/upgrade.php I get the error

Module function installer_ admin_upgrade1 does not exist.

It appears to match Xaraya bug 6247 which didn't contain a fix. If anyone
has any ideas I'd be very grateful.
