2010 Election Oversight Group formation announcement

A new year is almost upon us, and with it comes another Project
Management Committee election.

Like last year, an Election Oversight Group will be formed to organize
and administer the election proceedings.  The EOG shall consist of
three members of the Xaraya community, who will be responsible for:

- Notifying the community
- Gathering candidate nominations
- Gathering voter registrations
- Assembling and distributing a ballot
- Implementing the voting process
- Counting the votes
- Reporting the results

Past elections have occurred in three stages lasting one week each,
beginning at midnight GMT on sundays:

- Nominations
- Campaigning
- Voting

We would like to begin the Nominations stage on 3 Jan 2010.

Hb has kindly volunteered to fill one post, as he did last year. There 
remain 2 vacant seats. Persons interested in serving on the EOG should 
contact the PMC, either via the sitecontact form on the website, or via 
the #pmc channel on IRC.

Please note, EOG members cannot also be candidates in the election.
