That sounds like client side problems with javascript-code.
The exemplary implementation of ZMSGallery uses jquery.galleriffic:

Maybe you should give jquery.fancybox a try for gallery rendering.
The latest ZMS versions come with this plugin:

Betreff: [zms-developers] suspicious hangs of ZMS / ZOPE

Dear all,

many be someone has ideas how i can solve this.

Since several years we run some ZMS instances within NetBSD in versions from

Zope 2.8 - 2.10 / ZMS 2.11/12/13.

In versions higher then 2.12 i have some ZMS instances which are hanging
sporadically - means ZOPE is "hanging" with no (or very low) CPU time (the
whole ZOPE instance hangs).

Since i tried to fiddle with the "Gallery" from ZMSMediaplayer this could be

reproduced much more often - i.e. if some one clicks very fast within the
Gallery (which seems to load Images) or do some reloads of it. I first
assumed
that some image files did push the hangs but i'm not shure as the problem
arises within opening different images.

Every time ZOPE process is hanging without any report into event.log or
debug
logs within ZOPE. Sometimes i can read "ZOPE unhandled connect event".

Some years ago i had the problem that ZOPE instances with ZMS was running
out
of memory - extending the allowed memory for the process solved that. But
here
this doesnt seem to help (given 1,5 GB and more without any luck). Anotehr
one
time unicode chars within templates or user input in text fields could not
generated properly - leading to hangs...

Interesting seems that some of the beta users get very often crashes
(especially with Safari) while others don't get any crash - even if they
seems
do do the same things.

My own ZOPE code seems not affected from this - but i mainly use/write DTML
and Python-Scripts within ZOPE.

Any idea? If not - don't hit me pls...

Wanna play with?

many thanks in advance...
best regards,

Niels.
