but which version did you fetch from where?

from i.e.:

there is no "latest" file of 2.12 (2.13 only). Latest 2.12 is
http://zmslabs.org/download/ZMS2-2.12.1.1111.tar.gz there -

or from the public website:

(ZMS-latest - seems to be a 2.13)

or from:

(zms2-2.12.1.tar.gz [0.16])


but i just run ZMS 2-12 on Zope 2.12 and ZMS 2.13 on Zope 2.13 as i found this 
the most stable variant (not shure if the current ZMS versions follow this 
"quasi-rule" from former versions of ZMS / Zope compatibility).

You may check or set within "Administration":

 - jquery.version
 - jquery.plugin.version
 - jquery.plugin.extensions

(These vars afaik should usually be empty within fresh ZMS instances or you 
might try the filenames of the regarding installed jquery files from: 
zms/plugins/www/jquery/

If that did not help - please check what are within: 
 - dir: zms/plugins/www/jquery/
 - within the vars "jquery..."
and from where the JS scrips are expected withon your HTML output


for me this is i.e. jquery-1.4.4.min.js within current (todays) ZMS-
latest.tar.gz


btwII:
I remember former problems with ZMS and VirtualHost Monster of ZOPE with 
Installations behind a Apache rewrite, ZMS / Zope on a "non-standard port" and 
with subdirs (a "part" of the URL was gone) - you may try to access your ZMS 
page without any "VirtualHost" functionality if possible and / or try to 
change "Crop URLs" and "Coherence URLs" within "Administration".
