large file endings in ZMS Image

Hi all,
dear devels,


i've found several problems with large file endings (JPG, PNG, GIF and others) 
within ZMSImage (ZMS 2.12 on Linux / Unix).

- such images are not scaled automatically within preview etc.
- such images seems to get lost when do media-db packing

This may affect for me as i did run ZMS on Linux / Unix systems and not for 
i.e. for any windows user (case sensitive file system). 

Is this the typical behaviour (as i found several filename.lower() within ZMS 
sources).

From my view it would be the best solution to just bring the case down to 
lower case for all image filenames when uploading.

Is there any solution in newer ZMS versions? Should i write a ZMS patch for
