I hadn't thought of using clang.  I'll give it a try.

For the record: with patches that I posted in reply to John Ries<br>
I am able to build GPC based on GCC 4.3.6 on Linux using clang<br>
version 7.=C2=A0 =C2=A0So it should be possible to use clang for bootstrapp=
ing<br>
