Hello William,

Would you be able to replicate this on Orbacus 4.3.1? (You can grab a co=
py from the website.) I would like to start at the latest SP level and s=
ee if it's already resolved first. If we don't see the same rise in memo=
ry then we know it's the 4.3 ORB and not your program.
Cheers.

Subject: [OB-Users] Reply about the memory leak problem

Hello Dion,

1.I am using Orbacus v4.3.
2.The memory of my program is always rising. My program acts as client an=
d=20
server at the same time in my test.
3.I am using AIX5.3. The compiler is xlC6.
4.I am using Orbacus C++.
5.I ever tried purify, but found no obvious cause.
6.I am not sure where the leak is originating from, but I found that the=20
memory rises more when my program acts server and process request.

Hello William,=20

Just a few quick questions:

1. What version of Orbacus are you using? =20
2. Is the memory rising in your client or your server, or one of the=20
Orbacus=20
services such as Event or Notify?
3. What platform/compiler are you using?
4. Are you using Orbacus C++ or Orbacus Java?
5. Have you tried instrumenting your application with Purify or Valgrind?
6. Are you sure that the leak is originating from Orbacus and not from yo=
ur=20

application? We often see memory leak complaints due to improper _var ty=
pe=20

usage.

Cheers.

Subject: [OB-Users] memory leak problem

Hi,
  In my corba program, I uses DSI and DII. At the same time, I write a=20
corba client and another corba service, which are used to test my program.
  In my test, I found that the memory which my program uses was always=20
rising very slowly, but after about 12 hours suddently rose up over 10M=20
bytes, and then began to rise very slowly. I have tested for more than 24=
=20
hours, the memory never descends.
  Other than only once large addition, the memory rises up 4k bytes or 16=
k=20
bytes every some hours. The memory rising speed is so little that I am no=
t=20
sure whether or not my program occurs memory leak. Please help me, Thank=20
you! By the way, I initializes my orb through the thread_pool model.

regards,
William
