That sounds strange... Do you know exactly what makes the 
NormalDistribution constructor ? Does it create new Threads or makes 
other system related things ? If you have access to the source code of 
this constructor, I would recommand you to add a few 
System.err.println() statements to better understand where and why it 
crashes...
