At a closer look it turned out that the difference was neglectable :)

We think the GPS should be noisy (in the sense unusable) for a 
number of reasons. First, a GPS is not present on the real robot
(QRIO) and a real robot would probably have to position itself by 
image analysis and sensors anyway given the small size of the robot 
and the tatami. But the most important reason is that we have put 
quite some effort into trying to localize the robot by image 
analysis and if the GPS was allowed that would undo whatever 
tactical advantage we could gain from that effort. Since we have 
been working hard under the rather well founded assumption that the 
GPS was not available online it would not be fair to allow it at 
this moment in the contest.
