Roboka finals

Hi,

As you may have notice, the online competition will end on May 9th, 
2005, that is in a bit more than one week. The last round will run on 
May 9th at 14:00 (CET) as usual. After this last round completes, the 
competitors ranked #1 to #4 will be selected for the finals.

The top 4 competitors will be able to submit/test new versions of their 
controllers until May 21st 2005 18:30 (CET).

The finals will be held on May 21st 2005 at 18:30 (CET). It will occur 
during the Swiss Robotics Days / EUROBOT in Yverdon-les-bains, 
Switzerland. The finals will be displayed on a big screen and there 
should be pretty good media coverage (like TVs, journalists, etc.).

The authors of the top 4 robots will be invited to attend this final in 
Yverdon-les-bains (if possible) or online. The chat will be open for 
them (4), plus a moderator (BTW, we need a volunteer for being this 
moderator, anyone interested here?). Unfortunatelly we won't be able to 
reimburse travel expenses if you decide to come to Yverdon.

In order to avoid any trouble, we will organize the final the simpliest 
way. That is, we will remove all the competitors from the hall of fame, 
expect the top 4 and we will run three rounds consecutively. At the end 
of these three rounds, the competitor ranked #1 will be declared the 
winner and will receive the prize (1 Hemisson robot + 1 Webots PRO pack).

Although this mailing list is currently pretty quiet, the hall of fame 
is getting hot (many recent updates are displayed in red!) and the top 4 
is currently still unstable! RoboMarci recently reached rank #2 just 
behind the uncontested leader, ToddlerInSnowsuit who has settled in 
position #1 for a while now. Also, hiprobotamus, seems to have waked up 
recently and may be about to enter the top 4! gollum, FiremanFred and 
Kubiak are also in the starting blocks... The hungarian army (Harcos, 
Rambo, rabbit, ChuckNorris, Bendeguy, Robola) is still pretty far away, 
but who knows what those guys are preparing ? Or maybe the surprise will 
come from BobII (don't forget that Bob was the winner of the previous 
edition...)
