Dear Colleagues accessing (with Chrome) to https://boa.unimib.it/handle/10281/143808 the slides of my tutorial at ER 2016, gifu (Japan) on "Abstractions in Conceptual Modeling and surroundings" can be freely downloaded. I would like to share a first reflection on the relevance of abstractions in the new world of big data, since I beleive that abstractions will be a long term issue in the future to manage "digital data & related issues" complexity, and should push data science to mingle with other sciences.
