ADBIS 2017 Workshop: Call for Papers
Workshop on Graph Business Intelligence (GraphBI)
hosted by the 21th East-European Conference on Advances in Databases and Information Systems (ADBIS)
Hilton Cyprus Hotel, Nicosia, Cyprus
24 September 2017
https://workshop.euranova.eu/
DESCRIPTION
As the business and social environments become more interconnected and dynamic, graph-structured data become more prominent.
Graphs have the benefit of revealing valuable insights from their topological properties. A new class of business analytics could be explored from graphs. In addition, a multitude of emerging decision making problems can be represented using graph models and solved using graph algorithms.
We experience thus a growing need to integrate graph data within decision support systems. Such integration will help decision makers to get an extended and more complete understanding of their business environments, and therefore make well-informed and effective decisions.
The evolution of the BI market provided new opportunities but poses new challenges that call for novel theoretical foundations and enabling technological capabilities. Multiple BI challenges are being tackled from both academic and industrial perspectives, and many approaches were proposed in the literature to extend current decision support systems with graphs. Although a big progress has been made in recent years, there is still a need for introducing new models, designing new architectures, and building new technologies that support the emerging Graph BI market with value-added functionalities.
The Graph BI workshop will be held in conjunction with the 21th East-European Conference on Advances in Databases and Information Systems (ADBIS). Its aim is to provide a forum to discuss topics related to the emerging field of Graph BI and set research directions toward making business intelligence more effective.
TOPICS OF INTEREST
Areas of particular interest for the workshop include (but are not limited to) the following:
Graph databases and query languages
Large Graph processing systems
Graph Data ETL
Graph mining for decision support systems
Graph OLAP models and systems
Novel architectures for Graph BI
Graph BI dashboard and visualization of graph data and information
Evolving Graphs
Linked data and semantic web
Case studies and experience (lessons, pitfalls, guidelines) from Graph BI practice
Challenges from advanced graph application, e.g., social networks, fraud detection, e-commerce etc.
Privacy and security in Graph BI
Tuning and management of the graph data warehouse
We call for research, industrial, position, and demo submissions covering these topics of interest. Papers describing Graph BI systems, platforms, and applications are especially welcome.
