[Dbworld] Advanced developer for the EU-project Nomad

The theory department of the Fritz Haber Institute Berlin, Max-Planck-Gesellschaft, (http://th.fhi-berlin.mpg.de/) is looking for a computer scientist that will work on improving and extending the infrastructure for parsing and data analytics of the Novel Materials Discovery center of excellence (http://nomad-coe.eu) that was started with 4 supercomputing centers and 7 other leading scientific institutions.

Nomad is one of premier big data projects at the intersection between material science and computer science. Your participation will help bring forward our state-of-the-art infrastructure. Besides, you will improve your programming skills in python, Scala and javascript and will become acquainted with a wide spectrum of technologies like RabbitMQ (https://www.rabbitmq.com/), Flink (https://flink.apache.org/),  NodeJS (https://nodejs.org/), Kubernetes(https://kubernetes.io/), Docker (https://www.docker.com/), and relational databases.

Outstanding programming skills are required and a background in computational materials science, physics, or chemistry is appreciated. If you are interested to contribute to the unique NOMAD infrastructure that is dedicated to handling the huge pool of computed scientific data and enabling data sharing and team work based on it, please send your application documents to [email protected]
