Recent Advances in Autonomous Vehicles and Systems (AVS)

The field of autonomous vehicles and systems (AVS) have been evolving rapidly with numerous advances continually reported. The contributions to this field come from a variety of disciplines making it a truly multidisciplinary area of research and development. The aim of this book is to gather at a single source the state-of-the-art information for practitioners of this field as well as for those who are beginning to explore this field with potential to create a huge impact on the society.

The book will be published under the Automation, Control and Robotics System Series, by River Publishers. Contributions to the book in the form of book chapters are invited on the following and related topics:
1. Brief History
2. AI and deep learning for AVS
3. Embedded Computing
4. Sensors and sensor systems for AVS
5. Mobility
6. Motion control and safety in AVS
7. Simulation
8. Telematics and Communications for AVS
9. Standards and Regulations for AVS
10. Legal Implications of AVS
11. Societal Impact
12. User Behavior
13. Aerial Unmanned Vehicles
14. Underwater Unmanned Vehicles
15. Off-road AVS
16. Guidance, planning and navigation

The contributed chapters should provide an up-to-date overview of the underlying topics. Chapters describing new research are also welcome.


Important Dates

1. Expression of interest: July 18, 2021 (Chapter title and abstract)
2. Deadline for full chapter submission: October 31, 2021
3. Review of chapters: November 30, 2021
4. Final chapter version: January 15, 2022
