[DBWorld] PhD student position for Managing Knowledge Graphs (TV-L13 100%) in European Training Network

We invite applications as an early stage researcher for a full-time position as a

 PhD student (100% TV-L E 13)

The position is funded by the European Training Network KnowGraphs and is available as of June 1st, 2021. The position is to be filled for a period of initially 2 years (according to WissZeitVG). Your core duties and responsibilities will be to perform research on managing polymorphic knowledge graphs. Moreover, you are
expected to participate actively in the training network.

Your Profile

M.Sc. degree in computer science or in a related area. A background in Semantic Web technologies or knowledge representation, working knowledge of languages such as RDF, RDFS, SPARQL, OWL and programming skills in languages such as Java and Python are required. Previous knowledge in machine learning is preferable. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in an international team are indispensable for the position.

Eligibility

At the time of recruitment (i.e. first date of employment), you must not yet have been awarded your doctorate and must be in the first 4 years (full-time equivalent) of your research career. The mobility rules of European training networks require that a candidate for the position has not resided in Germany (work, studies, etc.) for more than 12 months over the last three years.

Salary

The salary amounts to German TV-L E 13, which starts at approx. 50,000 Euro income per year (before taxation).
