Yes, you're right :-) Rather keep the system version of libdb-4.2.so and
recompile dbxml to use that version - just copying a newer library over
an older one is likely to give you a lot of trouble.

I Would say, rather do
1. Install DBXML from source so that it gets linked to the system
version of libdb.
2. Ditto pybsddb
3. Ditto DBXML module for Python.
