Willy, Hello! 1. You can store binary data in a Berkeley DB database in the same environment as an XML DB environment. For Java, take a look at the com.sleepycat.db.Database and com.sleepycat.db.Environment classes in particular. 2. I have written a JCA resource adapter for Berkeley DB XML. Have a look at http://berkeley-dbxml-adapter.dev.java.net/ It is in good shape. I don't update it much, but I am still working on it nonetheless. I have another release coming soon.
