Willy,

Hello!

1. You can store binary data in a Berkeley DB database in the same
environment as an XML DB environment. For Java, take a look at the
com.sleepycat.db.Database and com.sleepycat.db.Environment classes in
particular.

2. I have written a JCA resource adapter for Berkeley DB XML. Have a
look at

http://berkeley-dbxml-adapter.dev.java.net/

It is in good shape. I don't update it much, but I am still working on it
nonetheless. I have another release coming soon.
