[bdbxml] DbXml documentation

I've been using DbXml via the perl interface for a few months now.

 From reading posts and problems on this lists I think I'm having 
problems finding out what calls I need to make in preparation for 
various actions.

I've read through the C++ API documentation but am finding it hard to 
identify what I need.

Is there an overview / user guide of common use cases anywhere?

I'm not that familiar with plain Db.  Are there vital parts of that 
documentation that I am missing?


In short - can someone point me to a comprehensive teach-yourself 
reading list?
