hello Robert,

i know of more than one (and more than two ;-)) terabyte or near-terabyte installations of maxdb at 
some sap-asps, large german coffee-roasters and retailers.. ;)

further, i agree with you that maxdb-manageability and useability is now where close to (and 
especially) oracle concerning confusion and complexity.

the fact i love about sapdb (i still can't get the word maxdb over my lips) is its simplicity, you 
can do everything a oltp-db has to do with ease, but you're not crippled by gigabytes of unusefull 
stuff. but it all depends on the exact use-case.
