Refresh MaxDB database

I was recently in a SAP training class concerning LiveCache
administration. In the class the instructor told me that I could refresh
one MaxDB instance to another MaxDB instance on different unix machines.
I did the following:
 
I took the backup on a MaxDB 7.6 instance on machine a (instance name
LCC).
Ftp'd the file (binary) to the MaxDB 7.5 instance on machine b (instance
name TYL) and placed it in my backup medium directory.
Placed the MaxDB 7.5 instance in admin mode
Started the recovery and it does know of the DAT file I ftp'd to the
machine b instance but it errors off with the following messages:
 
Could it be due to differnet MaxDB releases? Or is it due to different
instance names?
I can successfully restore on the same machine but really need to be
able to pull off a refresh down the road.
Any help would be appreciated.
