how to activate dba user after log restore?

The previous question I've posted was about restore process. Now I have
successfully done restore operation for one DATA backup and one LOG backup.
Now, how can I activate dba user?

As I understand, db_activate deletes all the restored information.
I cannot also use "db_activate recover burvis" because all the volumes have
already been recovered.
So what the correct command would be?

The recovery was done using following commands:

medium_put burvis /opt/sdb/backup/BURVIS_COM FILE DATA
medium_put burvlog BURVIS_LOG FILE LOG

recover_start burvis
recover_start burvlog LOG 001

Another question: when I restore only the DATA backup, a have a couple of
times sucessfully restored database (using the sequence of commands:
db_activate recover burvis
db_warm
load_systab)

but now upon load_systab I get the error:
-24909,ERR_DBAUNKNOWN: SYSDBA unknown
What could that be?

My ultimate goal is to set up a standby database and restore it from initial
data backup and automatic log backups in case of a hardware error on a
production database. Are log backups the correct way to do this? Or is
better to do incremental data backups?
And to top it, a naive question: is it possible to simply copy the data
volume file of the production database, to get a duplicate?

Try this:

medium_put burvis /opt/sdb/backup/BURVIS_COM FILE DATA
db_activate recover burvis
db_warm
load_systab

db_activate will activate, format the devspaces (which you just recovered)
and as result you have an empty database.
