I have a Mckoi server that it is being bombarded with connections from a
servlet engine, since a few days ago, causing a 90% CPU consumption from
McKoi and a lack of response, forcing to a server restart. I am not sure
this is an attack via the web tier, because the hardware dedicated to the
web tier has some performance and technical problems. The thing is that I
am monitoring the connections to the McKoi box via "netstat -alpn", and
when the problem arises, I can distinghish regular connections to the
mckoi port, properly identified with the PID and Java program name, but
there are also lots of connections lacking the PID + Program name column!
These are originated by the servlet engine, I would like to know how is it
possible that they are listed by netstat as connected to the McKoi port
but the PID/Program name is missing?

ps: Toby, I "solved the mistery" of backups taking too long after the
server restart, It turned out that the IBM's JIT was turned off in the
startup script.
