Concurrent requests

We are using Mckoi 1.02 database (standalone with 10 worker threads) for a 
web application (Tomcat/Apache).  One of the features (SCORM compliance) in 
our application requires us to insert 15000 records in a table by reading 
from other tables and it takes 70 seconds to finish the request.  It 
utilizes 100% CPU processing and 89% of processing time was taken by execute 
command (profiler results).  When we submit two requests at the same time 
the processing time doubles.

I am including the query we are running.

"insert into Lms_Student_Prescription_SCO(student_id, bookmark, status, 
sco_id) select ST.student_id,' ',"+nAction+",sco_id from Lms_Sco as SC, 
Lms_Student as ST where SC.lesson_id in (select lesson_id from Lms_Lesson 
where "+levelsLike+" and "+cyclesLike+" and "+modLike+") and ST.student_id 
in "+stuCSV;

Please let us know if you can think of a way to optimize concurrent database 
requests.
