Crystal Reports

This isn't strictly a mckoi question, but it is a project I am at least
planning on testing using the mckoi engine, and the users of mckoi seem
quite knowledgeable.

We are planning on developing an inventory program, which I can do, except
we are planning on using Crystal Reports as our reporting tool.  I need to
be able to imbed calls to Crystal from my program linking to the database.

My question is:

Has anyone used java and crystal together successfully, especially using the
Mckoi DB, and were you able to make calls directly to the crystal API, as
well as having the report viewer appear correctly?

Does anyone know of any open source projects which implement crystal?
