Mckoi certainly seems to have gone quiet but its a great product and I
hope it doesn't die.

My personal observation is traffic on the list seemed to die down
pretty soon after apache derby hit the headlines.

I remember some comparisions (or comments at least) that Mckoi was
better than hsql so if you are thinking of choosing or switching I
would take a long look at apache derby.  I know the IBM Cloudscape
product it is based on came to IBM from informix who in turn bought it
around the time they [informix] bought Ardent to get what is now the
IBM U2 database business so its been around for a while.
