embedded mckoi w/ sql script DDL

Is there a way to run a script with a sequence of appropriate DDL to 
build a schema...from an embedded mckoi application?

This would be the sort of thing I want to do after testing for database 
existence, then creating the database (if necessary).  Create database and 
build schema - on first use - sort of thing.

I want to maintain the DDL not a bunch of Java code.
