mdbtools command line utilities

Hi, I'm very new to linux. I downloaded and installed mdbtools-0.6pre1. The install went well but I cannot use any of the command line utilities. I downloaded it to /home/myDirectory. Everytime I type in a command I get the error message "command not found". I have an Access 2000 database in my home directory called db1.mdb. I tried mdb-tables db1.mdb and got the same error "command not found". What have I done wrong? I also cannot find the man pages for mdb.
