Jeff, I realized that if the disable-glib is not really an option (even though it is found in ./configure --help) then maybe I am misinterpreting that I can even set the path to glib during the configure... Is it even possible to do: ./configure --with-glib=/path to glib... ? I DO HAVE installed glib in a custom directory so maybe I need to do some hacking in the configure scripts? Since I'm new to linux any suggestions would be helpful... For instance, I am aware of setting the "LD_LIBRARY_PATH" and the "LD Flags" ideas but don't know how to go about that...
