Ratcl 0.92

I'm pleased to announce the 0.92 release of Ratcl.

(This is a Tcl-specific announcement - if you're interested in other  
languages, you may still want to read on, as more bindings will  
follow later.)

Ratcl is a completely new development which implements Relational  
Algebra in Tcl.  Take that with a grain of salt though: the Ratcl  
design also deals with set- and vector operators, and bridges the gap  
with databases and persistence by adopting a Metakit-compatible file  
format.  Ratcl aims to provide new persistence solutions for  
scripting languages.

Being a bit of everything, there is a lot still left to explore, as I  
try to find a balance which will make it easy to efficiently deal  
with a wide range of data requirements.  This release allows you to  
see what Ratcl is today, and where it's headed.

Ratcl was recently presented at the Tcl 2005 Europe conference in  
Bergisch Gladbach - the paper and slides ar available at http:// 
www.equi4.com/docs/tcl2005e/ and form a good introduction, but keep  
in mind that the syntax described in the paper has already evolved  
further.  The most up-to-date documentation is in the ratcl.kit  
starkit and the ratcl.pdf docs.

The Ratcl development is part of a larger project called "Vlerq", see  
http://www.vlerq.org to get more information about the scope and  
goals of this long-term research project, including other language  
bindings.

I welcome all feedback and suggestions, preferably on the wiki-based  
discussion forum on the Vlerq website.
