problem getting dict into a view

I must be missing something somewhere, but cannot see it yet. I want to be  
able to convert a dictionary of dictionaries - which is how I've been  
storing a database table in a pickled file - into a view.

Is it right that I have to convert the dictionary to a list first? Or  
maybe a list of dictionaries?

If so, what happens to the keys - do I just keep the data and drop the  
keys, except to name them in the "proplist" parameter of the wrap function  
- thus getting the columns in my table?

I'm completely new to all this, so excuse the level of my question.

Any tips would be appreciated!
