empty HOME variable crashes client

Good morning, mysqlers!

We found that running any mysql client with set but empty HOME variable 
generates coredump. To reproduce error execute
	env -i HOME= mysqladmin
	env -i HOME= mysql

At the same time following works
	env -i mysqladmin
	env -i mysql

Problem found for mysql-4.0.15 on linux-ia64 and hpux-11.11 platforms.
