MySQL 4.0.24 + kernel 2.6.11 compile problems

MySQL 4.0.x is still _NOT_ possible to compile on 2.6.x kernels 
(version 4.0.24 of MySQL):

I wonder how is this possible cos this bug was already found in MySQL 
5.0.x (http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=7970) and I already reported 
it also affects MySQL 4.0.x (http://lists.mysql.com/bugs/15554).. Can 
someone tell me when it will be finally possible to compile MySQL on 
2.6.x kernels _without_ problems ? :( I'm really wasteing lots of my 
time because of this..
