Most ISP restricts access to internal databases from clients others than
'localhost', does the app runs on a different host? is the db server and
the app server the same host? That would explain de access restriction
error. 

Another thing you might try is, if db server and app server are in fact
the same host, try changing the jdbc connection string to use
'localhost' instead of a FQDN or the IP address of the host.
