Fail Over / Round Robin

Quick Question,

Here is what i would like to do.  I have a pool of slaves and i would 
like to spread the load between them all, in a round-robin type of 
affair.  I don't want the application layer to know about it.

I see the driver supports failover if a host goes down:

Any advice for this?
