I am glad I am not the only one. Anybody else? -----Original Message----- From: Ralph Brickley [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, March 16, 2005 7:08 PM To: [email protected] Subject: FW: 'Error while storing the user information' I am having very similar problems. I began using MySQL Control Center, which I still like to use for the easier methods for editing the data directly over other versions. However, the users that I set up before are inaccessible through MySQL Administrator. For most of them, when I click to open the user info, I get the error: Error while fetching user information. The user might have been deleted. I get this error even when I try to make a new user in MySQL Admin. After entering the name and password, and schema privileges, and clicking Apply Changes, I either get an access violation error with a memory address within the administrator.exe or the error fetching user info. -----Original Message----- From: Lynn Eriksen [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, March 16, 2005 4:36 PM To: [email protected] Cc: Dwight Cook Subject: 'Error while storing the user information' I am getting the 'Error while storing the user information' when trying to make changes to a user under the 'User Administration' tab in MySQL Administrator. I am running the Administrator on Windows XP SP2, and the MYSQL server is 4.1.10a running on Windows 2000. The MySQL tables are an upgrade from 3.23. I have run the 4.0 upgrade commands to the tables during the 4.0 time frame. I didn't encounter this problem until recently, as far back at MySQL Admin 1.0.17/18 and MySQL 4.1.8 there was no problem. I read in another thread that there may be a problem with the tables if they didn't have the UTF-8 char set, so I went through and changed all the user and db tables to user the UTF-8 char set. No luck. I would very much like to be able to provide you with error information. I have tried look through the main log, and I have tried to turn on the query log - but I cannot get error information. I have look at the windows Application event log but nothing is recorded. I have looked in the program folder but nothing is recorded. Please advise the best process for me to get you enough information. It is very frustrating to only be able to report on that the Administrator reports 'Error while storing the user information'. I would suggest that you consider leveraging sometime of error reporting mechanism via web service if you do not want to provide detailed error information to the end user. Please see this bug as a reference for the information I would like to be able to submit. http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=8909 -- MySQL GUI Tools Mailing List For list archives: http://lists.mysql.com/gui-tools To unsubscribe: http://lists.mysql.com/[email protected] -- MySQL GUI Tools Mailing List For list archives: http://lists.mysql.com/gui-tools To unsubscribe: http://lists.mysql.com/[email protected]
