portint gui-tools to the current libs

hi,
i already send two email gui-tools list, but no one response from mysql 
ab. is there any developer in charge read this list? or who is 
responsible for gui-tools development in linux?
i try to compile MySQL Administrator 1.1.2 and MySQL Query Browser 
1.1.14 for fedora 4, but there are many problems. and the same happend 
with all latest linux distributions.
- it's written in a few years old gtkmm-2.0. the curernt version is 2.8. 
it seems to be possible to change it to gtkmm-2.4, but it's not compile 
just only after a few patches to the source.
- it's written in a few years old libsigc-1.2. the current is 2.0. here 
the situation is worst. it can't be switched what's more i try to use 
the compatibility part of the new libsigc++, but there is a few place 
when it's not working.
i already spend more than a day with it.
so my questions:
- is anybody working on porting these apps to the latest libs?
- or better make it works both with the new and the old libs?
- do it myself and send the patches? can we make it together?
- if there are some cvs or other development version of these apps, so 
can i start from there?
