We are well aware of these issues and have been discussing them for quite a while. It is very important to get the tools into the most recent distros and make it convenient for people to compile the tools themselfs. > i already spend more than a day with it. The problem is that porting everything is a huge task and given the limited resources we have we were not able to do so in the past. And if we upgrade to the latest libs now, we have to do it again in a year from now. Even if the new libs give us nothing worth upgrading in terms of stability and functionality. We do welcome patches but there are some limitations on the copyright stuff, the same thing as for the server. But I guess the first major step needs to be done from our side so it fits with our current development and your patches can be permanently included. > thanks in advance. > yours.
