UTF8 problem solved

Ok, I solved my problem. It seems it was mysql-administrator and NOT mysql. After upgrading MySQL to 4.1 I still had a problem. So, on a whim, I decided to recompile mysql-adminstrator against the new version of mysql. Voila! problem gone. -- .''`. Carl B.
