Hi

I have the following setup
5.0 Gui tools : Need to use QB and Administrator ( On Windows)
Server 4.1.11 : On Linux

I have the root user and pwd to log into the server and I can see that
the server is running. Mysqladmin ping -u root -p => Server is alive.
Also I can log into the server with "mysql -u root -p " and execute
queries.

Now, when trying to connect from Gui tools ( with the root user and
pwd, port 3306 ) it gives me error # 1130
HY000 Host 'dyna090236.....' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL
server.
(Checked Server Variables on the server machine and the port variable =
3306)

Read the docs for this error - Says credentials not ok but my user pwd
is same as root and working ok on server side.

Please suggest what is it that I am doing wrong? Any help is greatly
appreciated.

thanks
-parul
